Veterinary: a bottle opened with gloves, in the rain
A veterinary medicine meets the same requirements as a human one. But it is not used in a bathroom: it is opened in the barn or the pen, with gloved, hurried hands. The packaging has to allow for that ground.

The same rules as for humans
A veterinary medicine is still a medicine. Its primary packaging touches the product and goes into its file; questions of compatibility, sealing and barrier arise in the same terms. The European guideline on plastic packaging for medicines in fact carries a double reference: human and veterinary.
In Morocco, veterinary pharmacy falls under Law No 21-80 of 1980, amended in 1994. According to a presentation by ONSSA, the national food safety office, in January 2025, marketing authorisation files for veterinary medicines are filed twice, with ONSSA and with the directorate in charge of medicines.
From millilitres to litres
The first difference is volume. The same molecule may be dosed in drops for a dog and by the litre for a herd. Packaging therefore spans everything from the small dropper bottle to the large container, with, for each format, a closure suited to how often it is used.
Labelling follows: in the European Union, Regulation (EU) 2019/6 sets the particulars for the immediate packaging of veterinary medicines, with lighter rules for small units.
Gloves, rain, one free hand
The second difference is the ground. On a farm, the bottle is opened and closed many times, often with gloves, sometimes in the rain, the other hand holding the animal or the equipment. Hence concrete requirements:
- a closure that can be operated with one hand, with a firm grip;
- a seal that withstands repeated opening and knocks;
- a barrier against moisture, which rain and barn air do not spare: that is where desiccant caps come in;
- proof of first opening when the product is supplied in a market that requires it.
In the Tecmom range
Desiccant caps, tamper-evident caps, dropper bottles, pill containers: veterinary medicine packs are those of human medicine, chosen for the ground. See veterinary packaging and the catalogue.
A good veterinary pack is judged in the barn, not in the laboratory: when the farmer opens it with a gloved hand, in a downpour, and closes it without thinking. Everything before that exists to make that gesture ordinary.
